Worcester Ma Has a Skyline!

I am always sick of people saying Worcester has no skyline, LOL! So here are some Worcester skyline pics I have taken lately. They are with my cell phone since my other camera is broken and all my good pics are on a computer that crashed. Anyways, so I have to make due. These are some of my favorite angles, some not commonly seen. Enjoy!....BTW, please feel free to add your own skyline pics of Worcester to this thread!

Thanks for the pics, I always had trouble with pronouncing Worcester's name. War-chest-er just sounds so much better imo

I took a whole bunch of pictures of Worcester during my trip to Massachusetts last year. I was quite impressed with the city considering what a lot of people from Massachusetts (including my ex's family) would say about it. Anyway, this was the closest I took to a "skyline" shot:

Camera phone or not though, your shots are great! Thanks!

^^ I like that last pic.
I am from Mass, and while you could say that Worcester has a skyline, I will say that it's not much of one :) 2 towers at 285 feet plus some nice density below that. It's maybe the 4th best skyline in Massachusetts, behind Boston (OBVIOUSLY!) and also Cambridge and Springfield.
Not bad for a 4th skyline though. How is that massive redevelopment project coming along in downtown that I keep hearing about?

i guess it sort of does.

It really really does......nice.

I like that last one stratus (and the ones you other rascals posted too). Not really a skyline shot, but the closest I got:

For your ego sake I guess you can refer to that as a skyline

Worcester pronounced Woostah or Wistah.

Same with the sauce its Wistah-schere sauce. Got it?

I could definately live there. I was there back in 2003. I like the skyline, the hills, historical buildings, lively downtown, its proximity to Boston, the Cape and its in probably the most liberal/progressive state in the country. Mass is one of my top 5 favorite states and I have been to 48. Im sure I would like it better than Alaska and Hawaii too. Hawaii would be cool, but still being on an island in the middle of nowhere is not my style. I like to live in cities that are close to other major dense and architecturally significant cities anyway. Hawaii isn't that for sure. The northeast and eastern Canada is just my favorite part of North America and Worcester has easy access to all of that.

So that's what the Sharks minor league affiliate's city looks like. Is the hockey arena downtown?

blade_bltz Sep 19, 2009 1:33 AM

^ wow, I never knew about the Worcester Sharks!

Come to think of it, I know almost nothing about Worcester either, except that it has a nice train station. So thanks for the pics everyone.

I thought it was pronounced "Worster", as in "that city has a decent little skyline but other than that, it looks worster than mine."

Rico Rommheim Sep 19, 2009 4:57 AM

Somewhat a "quasi-skyline" I guess. Weird thing about Massachusetts, almost everyone lives in Boston (metro)!

Wheelingman04 Sep 19, 2009 1:18 PM

^ Well it is very closely connected to Boston and it is in the Boston CSA.
