Might I suggest smaller pictures? I count 43 floors, is this Aviara's second part?

^Escala is the tower that you're thinking of and that is by LedMac. Competely different project and developer.

For reference, Triomphe is at the southeast corner of Gilmore and Halifax, and Escala is at the northeast corner. BC Hydro substation is to the west.

What an awful looking building. Yuck!

Here, I resized them.

I didn't realize Millennium was still alive. At first glance the tower looks like something you'd find in a Toronto suburb.

Definitely very boxy Toronto.. Downtown just as much as suburbs. A style we could use more of. Liking this one.

rofina Mar 20, 2016 8:11 PM

Not unlike the Brentwood Mall towers, blocky and square - kind of a neat look for Metro Van, different at the least. I prefer it to the typical cookie cutters of Vancouver.

I like it. I wouldn't want the city filled with these types of towers but it's a nice change

I like it too. It just feels different then what we're used to seeing. Is that some sort of reflector? On the balconies. It looks a little disturbingly close to some sort of seafoam trim detail.

Toronto came to my mind the moment I saw it. Even the wavy design echos the building on (?) Bloor East, near Yonge. A large bluish building with a distinct, wavy design built in.

This is a beautiful building. It reminds me of Aria Hotel in Vegas somehow.
and Millennium is actually a very good developer.
They are the only developer known for spending money in their buildings.
Good for them

GMasterAres Mar 21, 2016 4:18 AM

Looks pretty nice.

Agreed re: Millennium - it was sad to see so many dance on the grave of a developer that consistently put effort into high-quality architectural expression and detail.

Me neither, but that very thing seems to be happening in Brentwood. First Amazing, then Concord and now this... They all look very, very similar.
