Le Nordelec - 12 Floors
Le Nordelec is the renovation (and conversion into lofts) of an old industrial building in Ponte-Saint-Charles. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8059/8...f74f9567_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8482/8...f04b7975_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8480/8...0d1dc733_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7107/8...20f43a5c_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7258/8...32299270_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7249/8...a094928b_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7248/8...15f51df1_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7120/8...e4db9a5f_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8058/8...c0920672_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8488/8...d3ea78a4_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8063/8...8e348442_b.jpg Back in the day: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7255/8...abfef54a_b.jpg http://www.flickr.com/photos/2465706...th/8183209477/ |
Can a mod please copy this to the Montreal Projects & Construction sub-forum? Thanks.

Incredible project that doesn't get any exposure on this forum. It should be moved to P&C AND be yanked out of "general" development. But good luck with that, nobody listens.
|
Holy crap, I never realised how massive this project is!

I love everything about this project, yet it hadn't caught my eye until I walked by last week. Huge funky billboard ads all around the building. Speaking of which, this thing is absolutely massive in person. Such a sinister, industrial look to it, it gives off a Tokyo city hall vibe... and it sits at a beautiful angle right by the wellington bride ''gateway'' into downtown.
I guess people aren't that excited cause being short, it's not a ''flashy'' project, although I find Nordelec perfectly audacious & way flashier than most skyscraper projects... |
Wow, this thing is giant!

WOW!!!!!!!!!! Impressive. This used to me my old stomping ground (lived in St Henri for 6 years). I always thought this could be a great site for redevelopment.
Back in the spring of 2012 I remember seeing evidence of work being done but I thought, since there were no signs posted I thought it was maybe a refurbishment or someone just taking part of the lot. Am I EVER glad that they are redoing the whole thing...and yes what an impressive looking project it is |
Looks great. I love it when industrial buildings are re-used as homes
|
This is recycling at its best! Nice high loft ceilings, great views...I love this project.
|
Work is well under way, but I can't really tell what's going on due to the high walls.

Lots of action surrounding this project of late.
Crane is up and most of the building's innards are being gutted at the moment. They also completed a sales office (or condo modèle?) at the corner of St-Patrick on Friday. Finally, there was a full article on the Nordelec in le Devoir this morning. Lots of good information and updates. |
Glad to hear this one is chugging along. Montreal needs this project.
|
I believe this one is ready to get moved under construction. There are already two cranes on site.
|
Moved.

You spoiled us with this massive update Martin, much appreciated.
The Nordelec is coming along fine, the effect along St-patrick is awesome. Can't wait to see the quality of the materials. |
Superbe tournée! Merci!
