well why do you boycott korean products then?
i actually think south korea has much better local architectural talent than taiwan judging from the pics i see posted in the korea threads. and they've built so many skyscrapers. seoul's developed a pretty expansive skyline. |
I personally don't see anything wrong being a nationalist who supports purchasing its own country's goods. There are times when I would do the same as well (ex. my acer laptop).
In addition, I c competition from Korean as a good thing - a pre-staging period before facing the rising China! Ever since joining WTO, Taiwan now has to be more globalized IMO. |
many people would know that korea is a direct competitor of taiwan when comes to high-tech goods. therefore, it is really either us or them. if you purchase a ram chip from the koreans then there is one less ram chip sold from the taiwanese. it is as simple as that. nothing else. nothing personal. (i've heard of how hostile the korean government is towards taiwan in the world stage. but i don't blame them. i mean~ if you want to earn chinese yuen then that's what you'll need to do. i know who is responsible for it.)
there is only so much demand from the world market. just want to do my part to help the taiwanese firms. you can help too! :help:. having said that, at the end of the day it is really the quality of your goods that will determine the winners. at the moment, mega korean firms are doing well around the world. i think taiwanese firms are requiring a bit of help from the domestic market. not that domestic market is big enough to alter much... |
