What the location of this building?

yarabundi Nov 23, 2008 5:51 PM

North-east corner of Beaver Hall and Viger.
Very nice but as I always say it : i'll believe it when i'll see it u/c !!

Rico Rommheim Nov 23, 2008 6:12 PM

Needless to say, this is a great project but like yara I'm skeptical.

Jibba Nov 23, 2008 9:48 PM

Not bad. Looks safely modern. Good for Montreal.

Montreal - Altoria - 32 étages - Approuvé

Je réalise que les projets pour Montréal sont tous dans le fil unique en haut de la page, mais je trouve que ce projet majeur mériterait son propre fil...

Projet: Altoria
Promoteur: Kevric
Site: http://www.altoria.ca/fr/le-projet.php#design

PhilippeMtl Jun 12, 2011 10:12 PM

This one is now u/c.

New count floor is now at 35 floors and the new height is 130 meters.

It may not be a lot comparing to Toronto, Vancouver or Calgary but we now have 4 towers higher than 30 floors u/c. ( Evolo, Altoria, Altitude and Marriot)

ts good to see that montreal is finally growing after years of stagnant growth.

MolsonExport Jun 13, 2011 12:17 AM

Montreal's growth has been very good over the past 10 years.

brian.odonnell20 Jun 13, 2011 12:41 AM

If that's still the official rendering then I highly approve.

Tone Jun 13, 2011 10:09 PM

It would be great if a mod changes the thread title for this: MONTREAL | Altoria | 426 FT / 130 M | 35 FLOORS

Thank you!

caltrane74 Jun 13, 2011 10:15 PM

Very good? Perhaps relative to the 2 decades before that, but Montreal has been one of the slowest growing metros over 3 million people on the planet. Montreal was bigger than Dallas just 20 years ago, now it's about 60% the size. That's no isolated case either.

Perhaps people in Montreal are so used to little or no growth that any growth seems like a lot.

Tone Jun 14, 2011 11:51 PM

I dont think 1 million in 30 years is ''little or no growth'' but if you say it, i believe you.

telyou Jun 17, 2011 1:11 AM

Not too sure where you get 1 million in 30 years.
In 1971 the region population was about 2.8 million and in 2011 it's about 3.6 million. Thus a growth of under a million in 40 years. That is not real growth.

Nevertheless, this is a great project for the city and a lot better than the stuff that has gone up north of sherbrooke street.

Anyone have any news on that parking lot at the corner of guy and rene-levesque?

Tone Jun 17, 2011 1:26 AM

http://www.demographia.com/db-cancma.htm

I got it from this page. It says 2,8 millions in 81 and today is 3,8.

Anyway.:)

Fantastic news!

For the first time in almost 20 years there are several highrises over 30 floors in construction in downtown!
