Beautiful pictures of Vienna. You totally got around! Did you take the panos from Kahlenberg?
For me, Figlmüller is THE place in Vienna for Wiener Schnitzel ;) |
What a fabulous city! Gotta get there soon. Thanks for the great tour.

Thanks guys for this comments :) |
lovely shots, i hope you had a good time. i see you stayed in the josefstadt, funny enough that's my home disctrict lol, it's considered to be the most beautiful district in vienna, after the innere stadt (1.) of course. and yeah the kahlenberg offers a great view of the whole city, i guess you took the bus up there!? also great shots of grinzing and nußdorf, not many people who visit vienna make a stop there. did you go to the prater and tried the riesenrad? i also suggest to visit the türkenschanzpark, it's one the most beautiful parks of the city (much better than the stadtpark) and certainly the most romantic one. if you have any questions, feel free to ask. once again, cool pics.

I didn't take the bus, I walked, I took the light rail to Grinzing and I walked up to Nußdorf ! at the end, I really had enough ! I've been attacked by mosquitos, there was wineyards everywhere and I was thinking : I love cities and urban environment, I paid to come and visit this city and where I am ? in the countryside !!!! :koko: |

also worth a visit (coming from a native :D), when considering going out: - donaukanal: lots of young folks there and also quite vibrant, one of the hotspots in summertime. clubs, open bars, restaurants, rafts (with swimmingpools), etc. and all by the water. :) - schwedenplatz: nearby the donaukanal, many underground clubs. in summer crowded with people. - donauinsel: unique in europe! http://www.donauinsel.at/. also, every year there is the so called "donauinselfest", the biggest open air festival in europe. about 3,000,000 people visit! - the "gürtel" scene. preferable audience: students, young hip people. here you can find the coolest bars & clubs. music: from jazz, blues to house. just everything. - sand in the city: huge area where you feel like you are in the middle of a sand beach. best cocktails in town. -... |
I missed some things but I've seen some you're talking about: sand beach on Danaukanal, the swimming pool on the boat, Swedenplatz.
I will continue to post soon, thanks for your advice, I'll contact you next time I'll visit Vienna, it's nice to speak with someone who perfectly knows the city. I meet a Wiener on my last day, he asked me if I have 5 minutes to show me something and we spent 4 hours together! I really appreciate, it's always better to visit a city with someone who live in. I hope one day I will find someone to show me the NYC secrets! |

Nice from you but maybe you think: OK she's in France and won't be in NYC soon, I could answer this without taking many risks ;)
But you should be informed that I'm going to the US twice a year and one time in NYC because I can't live without seeing what is going on there, what are the new buildings, I love too much this city ! so I will be normally there next October, for my 10th visit! :D |
Judging from these photos, it's easy to understand why Vienna is frequently rated among the top three most livable cities in the world. Thanks for the great photos!
It would be amazing to live in Europe and be able to easily hop on a train and visit so many great old historic cities. :) |
