My area of study at Ohio State was a specialization in the Department of Geography in the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences. So I guess I'm part of the "geography circle". ;)
Great photos btw! :) |
Hey Pigboy, UW geography represent! I couple of my fellow geography major friends attended, and enjoyed themselves. I wish I could've gone myself. Thanks for the photos!
|
Great photos PigBoy. I love the angle of this photo,

I want to be part of the geography circle :(
brilliant!+ |
Without trying (I'll take your word for that) I think you produced one of the best SF threads I've seen. You do seem to have got lucky with great weather--SF is not always favored with blue skies. But also you seem to have a very good camera and took your shots from unusual places. I'm guessing many of them were from Coit Tower (or at least Telegraph Hill) and some of the others were from an upper floor of a hotel (I think the Marriott). Am I right?
|
Very good photos of SF. Nice job.
|
So this is why I live here. No further comments.
|
Nice!

Love the layering of the bridge, port, and Oakland skyline. The pics of SF are great as well. |
Gorgeous and very impressive density.
|
Just say nothing - amazing !

san francisco looks beautiful as always

Too bad that city is so ugly.
|
I'd like to wrap San Francisco up and put it in a little box and send it on down the river.
|
Beautiful colors and nice weather.
|
Thanks everybody! The AAG conference is great because it's pretty much an excused vacation from school, at least in a geography department. I hope some of you other geography people will make it to next year's in Boston. Do it while you're a student if you can; it's a helluva lot cheaper! (Although frankly it'd be super easy to just wander in without registering, and plenty of people do.)

From one geographer to another: excellent photographs!

As a graduate in Geography from San Francisco State, I say you did a marvelous job capturing our city. Like someone else mentioned, one of the best SF threads I've seen!
|

That's cool. Didn't want to start a ruckus. Just found it odd that I always see posts from them dissing SF. It's all good though. |
Beautiful pics of a beautiful city. My favorite city in the world.
|
it's nice to see some interest (and attendance!) of the AAG conference from college students. i went to the 1999 conference in williamsburg VA and i swear i was one of maybe ten total college students there. i had a blast nerding it up with the founder of mapquest and a CIA cartographer (whose world map i still have hanging on my wall). i wasn't even a geo major or minor -- i would have been but by the time i realized the interest was there i was tired of college and just wanted to get the hell out.
super pictures there. i haven't been to SF in eight years, oi. |
