The Flatiron Building, state of the art at the time, built in 1902 making it one of the oldest skyscrapers in New York that still stands.

I didn't know this thread existed. Yep, it is a jewel that is often forgotten yet it was once the tallest building in the city at one point.

This is a nice landmark of New York.
How much floor space is in that building anyway? It seems like you could barely fit through the entrance.

Holy crap, that would make for the most kick ass apartment in the whole city.

Probably a better use than an office. If that was my office I probably would not get much work done.

By the way do not forget to credit Danial Burnham with giving New York City this unique structure.

Well it is a 110 years OLD.

Dubai and co can build all the super talls they want, but there will always be only one flatiron building. I'd give anything to set up shop OR live in those point offices. A classic.

^ The question is does Dubai have any angular roads or intersections like NYC or even London. They're just building stuff that's popping out of the ground. In the famous words of Calvert Vaux ('Nature First Second, and Third, Architecture After A While'). In my opinion roads and city planning counts as nature.

Agreed, but we don't need to bring Dubai into this.

Also can't they install some kind of air conditioning system in there? So they can get rid of those boxes that hang from the windows.

A finer beauty there never was.
