Vintage airport photos
Post photographs of your city's airport(s)
from the earlier days of aviation. I'm not from Los Angeles (I used to live there) but I have two great photographs of LAX from 1947. http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/2...947hugedb5.jpg Los Angeles International 1947 http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/7...7huge2aye5.jpg Los Angeles International 1947 |

Tempelhof Airport, Berlin, Germany
Described by British architect Sir Norman Foster as "the mother of all airports" http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...of_airport.jpg http://img240.imageshack.us/img240/5...hof1945ju2.jpg http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-imag...tempelhof3.jpg http://www.aeronautics.ru/archive/ww...hof%201936.jpg |
^^^Great fotos eduardo88.
Tempelhof is one of my favorites. http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/1...ofmodelbg3.jpg model |
Thanks, yeah Tempelhof is definitely my favorite airport ever built. Its so amazing how massive it really is and I love how airplanes basically go right into the terminal. Its a shame the concourse has had such an ugly renovation in the 60's or so with the addition of a second floor of office space for the airlines. It's also a shame its going to be closed down soon :(
