As posted in the Urban Development thread.
An updated rendering of Southtown Flats. |
Just for reference.
This was the original design. |
I took a few photos while I was home.
Together with Cevallos, it makes quite the impression. https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...7f&oe=5713526A I wish they had put a little retail here ... https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...92&oe=56FFC0B8 Looking out toward Blue Star. https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...3d&oe=571868F1 |

Can anybody get a shot of what this looks like at night? |
This is probably my favorite of the apartment boxes that have sprung up so far, looks really good. It would be nice if Probandt wasn't the world's ugliest/most dangerous street for pedestrians, though.

With the railroad tracks and that street as wide as Probandt is, it definitely should be something to address at public meetings of sorts... or something. |

AHHHH Hello people! It is not that bad. And it is called "urban living". A pedestrian walkway is all that is needed. Too much negativity.....:slob: |

Enjoy the developments..... |

On the plus side, the negativity was directed at the street and not the project. |

I hope the city does something about all the power lines in this area.

I'm not going to parrot the "City on the Rise" baloney that the Rivard Report and others promote constantly. It's overly optimistic to the point of being slightly nauseating. The new stuff around downtown is by and large a good thing, but as an SA native, as I bike and walk around this city, I see a whole lot of stuff that could be a whole lot better. Criticism is healthy, so I decline to put on the rose colored glasses, thanks. |

Back to the topic at hand please.
