NEW YORK | 28 on 28th (42-12 28th Street) | 647 FT | 58 FLOORS
Another tall tower proposed in Queens according to DOB records. This one will rise 596 feet. No renders yet, but this will really add to the Court Square skyline.
The building is proposed to replace the red brick building in the foreground: http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3668/1...7dcdbd6f_b.jpg via Google Maps |
600' will really stand out. A growing Queens is great.

Awesome, congrats to Queens!

600 ft will be a great height for this area, and add to the cluster...

There's a giant twin-towered development on Vernon Boulevard in Astoria that's going up soon too.
I'm not sure if it's been mentioned in the press, but it's two towers facing Roosevelt Island and the Upper East Side. |

There's one listed on the chart above. It's probably the same development (below), and can go in a separate thread. Considering the Citigroup Building is 673 feet, this is great. The 2nd tallest. Seems the height in the outer boroughs just keeps reaching higher and higher. Brooklyn is getting a new tallest, and Queens is will probably continue that trend.

I love that this area is becoming more dense, more of a legit skyline for Queens.
Now I want to see renderings. The massing ironically looks similar to this draft of a skyscraper drawn up for the area (not an actual development)... http://archinect.com/people/project/...tower/47770044 http://cdn.archinect.net/images/1200...7kp3md4x0d.jpg |

Nice. I always pass by this site on the N/Q but always forget to check it out...have they begun excavation work yet?

Not too bad. I'm sure the actual renderings will look better, but its suitable for the area. |
