Centennial Olympic Park, downtown Atlanta

Some shots of the 21-acre Centennial Olympic Park, probably the singular most tangible legacy of the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. At the time it was built, it was the largest downtown park built in the country in the past 25 years. These pictures were taken late morning, which is why there aren't as many people around:

Thanks for your pictures!

I´ve liked Centennial Olympic Park. I see it´s very nice. I like its design, with fountains, monuments, grasslands. That is a park!

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain!

Great park - usually FULL of tourists to the point of the area looking like a crowded northern city what with the aquarium and World of Coke and CNN Center and all the conventions and attractions nearby. Must have been a totally randomly dead day.

I actually got mugged in this park, though that can happen anywhere! Regardless, it's really interesting and has some very intriguing things to see. Oh, and the aquarium is fantastic! It definitely does feel like a park you'd find in the north. Anyway, thanks!

I was around 10, 10:30 am on a Friday in early April. There usually isn't that many people there around that time on a weekday, although the weather was a little cool.

Woh nice memories, great pics. I visited Atlanta for the first time in 1996 for the Olympic Games, and have fond memories of the park. The park looks well kept after so long, props to Atlanta for maintaining and upgrading the park, one of the best I have seen in a city.
