Woot! I love this town:cheers:

I think this is the second time I've seen this town on SSP. Very fascinating to me. Looks like fun. Thanks for the photos!!
|
Some nice streetscapes in that town.
|
I really must visit this city some time. Looks great. The Medical Arts building is a gem. Wonderful set of pics, thanks.

Hot Springs is a fantastic place. It needs more people with more dedication to protecting and enhancing what's special about it though. There's a lot to love there, but there's a lot that needs more love, in other words.

Nice little thread!! It's great to revisit HS!!
|
great little town...we have something like 15 underground streams in Manitou Springs where I live.
|
Nice photos. :D I wonder how many of those buildings Bill Clinton was in at some point when he was growing up. I was hoping you would have pictures of his boyhood homes, but nice pictures of the downtown.

I had so little time to do these photos... I just wanted to make sure and get a few general scenes around the town. Someday I'll have to go and cover the more touristy stuff (bathhouses, the moutain promenade, etc.). But hey... anyway you slice it, this is an impressive little town... especially for only 40,000 people! |
That Medical Arts building is way cool.

It looks pretty good.

I love Hot Springs! Worked summers there through high school and college. Thanks for the reminder! |
WTf, I was going to go down there this weekend so I could make a thread about it, lol. Great pictures. I live about 60 miles away from Hot Springs. Its ok, its like a dirtier less sexy version of Eureka Springs in northern Arkansas. The main reason I go down there is to collect mineral samples and quarts. I am a geologist and the best geology in the state can be found right in the hot Springs area. Ever heard of Magnet Cove? If not, go check it out. Its a very cool tiny town located in one of the nations most important mineral ore recovery sites about 10 miles east of H town. Why were you up this way? Just driving through?
If you ever get the chance and are going through Arkansas again, check out Eureka Springs. If you like historic buildings like I do then that place is heaven since they are all fully protected, unlike Hot Springs and its an incredibly beautiful and liberal town. I love it there! Thanks for the photos. Its the second time Hot Springs has come up in these threads. |

Eureka is gorgeous and marketably liberal considering its surroundings. But I wouldn't take that liberal/gay/black/non-Baptist stuff anywhere outside the city limits. You're liable to get shot, skinned, and frickaseed by the mountain folk! :runaway: Dude, I'm an Arkie!! I thought you knew that for some reason. I went to school in Arkadelphia, and (of course) worked in Hot Springs. BTW be careful on Highway 7 between HS and Russellville. |
Some very cool strucures and great shots!
|
Damn I need to get there i love this place!
|
$1.35? wtf
