Looking forward to it...

Next step Rügen - Malmö bridge ?;)
|
I wonder if/when the two rail tracks wil get to max capacity. The Öresund bridge has already maxed out... (thus the need for a Helsing-tunnel)
|
^probable not that fast as there isn't the same commute culture down there as between CPH and Malmö..
And freight trains is virtually a thing of the past here.. Even though this will make it easier for Germans in Lübeck and Hamburg to work up here the islands down there, especially Lolland doesn't offer much jobs or anything really outside the agricultural sector.. I think the main usage will be like today - tourists to northern Germany or CPH... But the real value is the truck transport and the cars, it will save a lot of time and in will make it a more attractive route than trough Jutland and Funen.. |
True, the commuting will probably be very limited. Wouldn't surprise me though if it boosted freight rail noticeably. Especially to/from Sweden, there's still space on the Sound bridge at off-peak times for more freight afaik.
