The Capitol view corridor determination that was filed. Half the block is affected by a corridor. This is the reason for the triangular shape of the tower.

Wow Austin! Looks pretty slick with the exception of the auto warehouse base.

This is correct. I used a work program that scales PDF images. The top part is 20' making it 869.5' total.

BUT if you measure from the right side of image which is south and 6th street, the measurement is 3.25' more. (at the PDF resolution I scaled at I could be off by a couple inches but still). Total height from 6th street should be 872.75ish?

A slight increase in height by measuring from south side of the lot at 6th Street. This would put the height at 872 feet 3/4 inches tall, or 873 feet if you round up.

Sexy as hell

The Austin American-Statesman picked it up. This quotes the developer as saying that the tower might even grow from 62 floors to "the mid-70s range".

EXCLUSIVE: Austin’s tallest tower planned for West Sixth and Guadalupe

Shonda Novak American-Statesman Staff
2:55 p.m Friday, Aug. 4, 2017

A San Antonio-based developer is planning a skyscraper in downtown Austin that would soar 850 feet high which, if built, would make it the city’s tallest building.

Lynd Development Partners is teaming with Dallas-based Lincoln Property Co. on the proposed mixed-use tower, which would be built at 600 Guadalupe St., Michael Lynd Jr., president and CEO of The Lynd Co., said in an interview with the American-Statesman.

The tower as currently designed has 62 stories, although ultimately there could be more, possibly up to the “mid-70s” range, Lynd said.

Holy cow I love the design!

A winning design.

Normally, new tallests should demand an excellent caliber of detail, and this passes the test. Worthy of a new leader in the rankings. As always, may it act as a catalyst for future growth. :)

Yeah thats definitely a solid supertall. Probably 300m exact or close to it +/- 20m.

This says they plan to file a site plan soon and start construction within a year and have it delivered within 4 years.

Austin's skyline to reach new heights: High-rise planned to reach more than 60 stories

Aug 4, 2017, 3:57pm CDT

Renderings emerged Friday of a skyscraper proposed for 600 Guadalupe St. in downtown Austin. Planned to soar more than 60 stories high — perhaps up to 75 — it would be by far the tallest building in the city.

Lynd told the Statesman that the development partnership aims to build "an iconic tower." The design is by Gensler Austin.

The skyscraper would have more than 500,000 square feet of office space and 300-plus luxury apartments, plus ground-floor retail, according to the Statesman.

Austin(Texas) isn't messing around! Taaaaalllllllllll....

WonderlandPark2 Aug 4, 2017 10:58 PM

Wow, nice.

Would be 6th tallest in all of Texas, that's some height.

Mopacs Aug 4, 2017 11:18 PM

Unbelievable! As an Austin native, I never thought I'd see this day (much less the day any building exceeded the height of One American Center - 400').

Looks like they're preserving the historic house on the block as well.

Me likey!!!

Skyy Aug 5, 2017 5:23 AM

Austin is definitely turning into one of the big skyscraper players

wrendog Aug 5, 2017 1:47 PM

:slob:

I wish this San Antonio based developer would plan a tall skyscraper in, oh, I don't know, San Antonio.

Austin continues to lead the way

Dare I say that Chicago's canceled Waterview tower moved south?
