Thanks, I wasn't aware of that. So there are 9 more floors to go. According to Emporius it should be 44 floors @ 518'.

emporis sucks.

I wish I could, but I don't know of any similar sites.
I am a member of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) and as a member I get all access to emporis, but I never use it because it is just more of the same crap. it used to be good, until they decided not to pay their contributors. so quite understandably, people stopped contributing. that is why they suck.

That vertical cement strip on the south side of RATR -

Does anyone know? I don't remeber that vertical cement strip with the small square windows being "plain cement" on the model. Will that get covered over somehow? It will look terrible, not to mention totally out-of-place on the finished skyscraper if they just leave it that color.

Thanks.

Gia

That concrete strip on the southside of the building is covered in the model. I believe that is the elevator bank. I guess they are saving that for last while they close off the rest of the floor to start the interior work. I hope they just don't paint it.

Looking beautiful. Do they have any plans to cover up those concrete pillars at the base?

JV_325i Mar 18, 2008 6:32 AM

From the 2 renderings below it appears to resemble the second one the most in regards to the pillars. I have know idea about sheathing or paint on top of the concrete though.

^ Kinda looks like white paint, huh??

McBane Mar 19, 2008 12:55 AM

this isnt SH or WFS or even the Murano (no disrespect there). this is a super luxury project all the way and the developers aren't cheapening out anywhere. of all the projects i have the most faith in this one and 10 Ritt in terms of quality craftmanship - without any shortcuts. i wouldn't worry one bit.

kraggman Mar 19, 2008 3:35 PM

Looks like maybe 39-40 floors ?? 8 more to go ??

giamomj Mar 19, 2008 6:08 PM

^^^ Hey Ritz resident -

I snooped the model in the photos at the beginning of this thread (I think Volguus took them). Anyway - there is a shot of the south elevation of the RATR - and lo and behold there is the vertical cement STRIP running all the way up - in GRAY. Go figure.

floor count

Just spoke to a friend who is working on the project and they are currently pouring concrete for the 41st floor.

philliesphinest Mar 19, 2008 9:35 PM

Gia, look at the photos of the building from Phillyskyline.com (under buildings at the top of the page). That strip on the south elevation is definitely covered in glass. I think it appears gray because of the thick concrete ban that the glass covers.

BTW does anyone know if they are going to have any hardhat tours of the building soon?

phillies, are you the upkeeper of that site? I love those pic updates.

philliesphinest Mar 21, 2008 1:50 AM

I wish I could take credit for that awesome site, but I am just a fan. The construction photos are always up to date. Now if only the Ritz would update their site. I think their construction update photo was from September 4th 2007 when the building was about ten stories high and had no glass.

BigDan35 Mar 23, 2008 1:45 AM

I know everyone loves the Murano, but I'm actually more excited about this building. This looks so classy with the design and the dark glass. I'm really liking the glass, mainly because it's surrounded by a ton of white/beige, so this dark blue will really stand out.
