This is kinda a mini me of the TD Centre in the CBD. It was recently completed.
Nothing fancy just simple lines, with splashes of colour here and there.

style: Minimalist / Modernist

Very nice!

A few personal favorites that don't necessarily get much attention. These are obviously a tad Calgary biased... because that's what I'm most familiar with in person.

Canterra Tower by diamonD.edgE, on Flickr

Canterra Tower in Calgary

Not the biggest anymore... or ever. But considering when it was built, the look as aged very, very gracefully, and it still manages to look really modern. It walks the fine line between visually bland and visually busy, and looks absolutely awesome from any angle.

Calgary night lights by Surrealplaces, on Flickr

Centrium Place in Calgary

It's pretty small, but I'd argue it's one of the best, most elegant executions of a tower accentuated by LED lighting that I've ever seen.

The TD tower of Brookfield Place in Toronto

I can see how this tower is a bit polarizing. But, dammit I love it. I think it's one of the most unique and instantly identifiable towers in Toronto (besides the obvious).

Montréal - Tour de La Bourse by moyogo, on Flickr

Tour de la Bourse in Montreal

I dunno. That picture just screams cyberpunk to me. There are a few similar towers in Calgary (like the Altius Centre) that, for some reason, don't look nearly as cool. They really got this one right.

Jimby Aug 20, 2010 4:50 PM

:previous: Altius/Rogers would look like a Mini Me version next to Tour de la Bourse!

The Centrium LEDs that Floobie mentioned can be seen in this shot from the east village looking down 6 Avenue.

Royal Bank Plaza - 180 Meters

One of the greatest skyscrapers constructed in Canada in my opinion. At the time it was one of the Engineering Marvels of the Toronto skyline along with the CN Tower, CCW, and TD Centre. It's glass is clad in real gold, how is that for a Bank shoving it in your face!!!!

It stands 180 Meters, but in my opinion would have been nicer at about 200 Meters, just so it would be more prominent in the Toronto skyline. RBC took care of that, with RBC Center a few blocks west though.

Sunlife Towers.. would have been more interesting if they were a bit taller. However they are very visually unique towers that were conducted in the second skyscraper boom in this city from the 1960's to the late 1980's.

The shangri la is stunning. I saw it for myself a couple months ago and was very much impressed. without a doubt one of canada's nicest buildings. I also entered the lobby, holy mother...
