BC Ferries Crash, Naniamo, Nov 18, 2011
 

Friend was waiting to catch the ferry when it crashed into the dock in Departure Bay, Naniamo. The 7pm sailings out of Departure Bay, Naniamo, and the 9PM run out of Horseshoe Bay are written off, but no one was hurt. Cause of crash is unknown, only damage was to the rubbing strafe (the "bumper") on the boat and one of the things that guide the boat in when it is docking. Costal Celebration is being brought up from Swartz Bay and normal service will resume tomorrow.
