PARIS | Tour Triangle | 590 FT / 180 M | 42 FLOORS

New high rise building project in Paris by Herzog and De Meuron. The developer is Unibail Rodamco.
It will be a 180m pyramid-shaped tower for only 13m in thickness . This tower would be located in the 15th arrondissement and will be perpendicular to the Peripherique the beltway that surround inner Paris.

This looks thrown-together.

I hope Paris doesn't let this happen.

Rico Rommheim Sep 25, 2008 12:14 PM

I love it! Is this really u/c?

Minato Ku Sep 25, 2008 1:12 PM

No because we are in the skyscraper proposal part.

Rico Rommheim Sep 25, 2008 1:16 PM

, that's right, u/c = under croposal!

Minato Ku Sep 25, 2008 3:01 PM

More view, now they speak of 200m (655 feet) for the height. Jacques Herzog hopes hopes to bring the height of this skyscraper to 211 meters (692 feet) to surpass the Montparnasse Tower.

I think it is trying way too hard. I don't really care for the design. It sort of looks cool from the view of the lateral profile, but overall just isn't doing much for me. It looks a little to Daniel Libeskind for my tastes... blah.

Alliance Sep 25, 2008 4:43 PM

The treatment is great, but it is too wide along the one side. Pandemonious is right though, the profile is stellar.

Better built than not though! Hopefully the materials will have the qualities of the render (though I doubt it)

Rico Rommheim Sep 25, 2008 5:04 PM

You people are all out of your minds, this tower is a veritable masterpiece and ONLY a city like paris could ever pull it off and be proud of it!

I want that in my city.
And yes, please, make it at least 211 m tall.
I'll be proud of it.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts. I cannot get into this design at all. Their design for NY is so much better.

Is this in Paris proper? Looks like it's in Issy or someplace. I couldn't imagine it getting past in the city.

Minato Ku Sep 25, 2008 9:16 PM

In Paris proper in the limit with Issy les Moulineaux.

Vraiment intéressant, en souhaitant que ce projet voit le jour.
De plus il est ,on pourrait dire ,en périphérie du centre de la Ville ,donc les résidents ne devraient pas s'y opposer...

There will be opposition, believe me.
Already, residents from Vanves and Issy are complaining about the shadow that the tower will cast on their residences, even though both cities are located south of the tower... and really not so close.

Love it. Build it. Now.

really kind of interesting, a new solution how an egypt piramide of glass could be in a futuristic aformal way. I like it a lot and hope soon to be taller then the eiffel tower. :P

I liked the first and last pic in this thread where it just looked like a crooked jenga tower. Then I saw the others and was disappointed a little.

slymjym Oct 28, 2008 7:21 PM

I like it, but all I can think is...DORITO....now I'm hungry. ;-]
