London in the sun!
I was in London for a meeting last Friday and so was able to enjoy the blue skies and hot temperatures before and after, and on Saturday.
It was also my first chace to try out my new camera, the Sony alpha DSLT-A55. I checked out the new Western Concourse at King's Cross on Friday morning and had a wander through the West End in the evening. On Saturday I went to Camden Town and Hampstead Heath. I walked about ten miles over the two days. In this thread you'll see what Londoners do in the sun... drinking, sunbathing and even swimming in the lake on Hampstead Heath! Interspersed with buildings, because this is SSP after all :) 1 & 2. St. Pancras 3. "The Meeting Place" at St. Pancras International 4. King's Cross from St. Pancras 5. Great pictures! They made me want to go back to London so badly. The hotel mural is really awesome btw I wish I had seen it while I was there.

Ugh. I wish I could move there! I love London so much.
|
Love me some London! Thanks for posting these great pics! :)

Fabulous - you do a fantastic job on ferreting out the best of London's art deco. What did you think of the King's Cross concourse?
|
Thanks for the kind comments. It's really hard for me to comment on the King's Cross concourse as I don't believe I ever saw what it was like before! However, I do know what London's stations are like at rush hour so I can only imagine it is a huge improvement. The tall roof makes it feel very spacious, and it complements the old building frontage quite nicely.

London is impressive on all ends. that 5th pic is cool!

Nice job showing off an awesome city. I really love that last photo, I've visited London several times, but somehow always seems to miss this area.
|
wow!
|
London looks awesome in any weather, but there's something special about those beautiful Victorian buildings on a sunny day! Gotta get back!
|
Great set man. I visited London for the first time in January with my girlfriend who is from there. I was so glad I had her to show me around and to keep me from getting lost on the public transport system. The city is massive and overwhelming, but I loved every nook and corner of it.
Well done. |
No place like LDN

Great stuff. I really like #10.

seriously, one of the best threads ever. One of the few "capitals of the world" and deservingly so :worship:and the capital of the mother country
|
hey! I've been to St. Pancreas too!
Nice lil' jaunt. |
Your pictures make it seem like Londoners in the sun mostly stand outside of a pub drinking beer.
