That is an amazing pic. You can even see Foxborough (and Gillette stadium) at the midway point.

Tsk tsk, ColDay, I took that photo and posted it in this thread 31 pages ago! :D

Sorry, I don't dwell in the past like you, Nimbostratus...

And to get back to topic before a Dixieland thundercloud appears...this is Cleveland from 20 miles away at Gildersleeve Mountain.

Where in Palos Verdes was this taken?

Looks like somewhere in the Malaga Cove area.

This is the same angle from that flickr - notice downtown lined up with Strawberry peak.

There's also a lovely "waterfront skyline" view:

Lala sure is picturesque from the air...

The whole west coast of America from Alaska down to Chile is topographically spectacular. We can 'thank' geology for that. The Pacific Ring of Fire is a tectonic belt of volcanoes and earthquakes.

Awesome!

Not knowing Cleveland's skyline layout very well, will the new sherwin-williams tower have much prominence from that particular angle?

Buckeye Native 001 Apr 1, 2024 5:35 PM

From what I've seen from Cleveland photographers on Instagram, looks like the Sherwin-Williams Tower is more prominent when viewed from the lakefront.

Another one of Toronto I randomly stumbled upon today, taken three years ago by reddit user Marcanadian from about 42 miles away as the crow flies atop the Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls, ON:

What's the highrise cluster in the foreground of the Toronto picture with the "DNA" water tower?

Cirrus Apr 3, 2024 10:06 PM

Here's a recent one I took of Tampa from 13 or 14 miles away, about 3/4 of the way across Tampa Bay to the west:

It's the Humber Bay skyline west of downtown.

This is from 4 years ago by Phil Marion... it's grown a lot since then and will one day almost triple in size with the massive master-planned redevelopment of the Mr. Christie's Cookies lands (2150 Lakeshore - 2nd image below).

It would half-way fill that gap between the old BP Tower and Key Tower.

This is where consuming way too much Canadian media comes in handy.

No. The first "E" is short like in "red" or "dead." https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...bicoke.ogg.mp3
