CALGARY | New Central Library
 

Calgary's New Central Library, designed by Snohetta. The project is currently under construction and will cost around $250 million. The LRT track encapsulation is now complete and heavy construction on the building is now getting underway. The 6-storey building will be complete in 2018. Along with the National Music Centre of Canada, this will be one of the first major cultural institutions built in Calgary's burgeoning East Village neighbourhood.

So exciting :) Should be seeing it rise by late spring!

I'll be visiting Calgary some time just to go to the library.

I'm wondering how much excavation will be required, as there will be no parking on site. Hopefully not much and we start to see it rise up by spring :)
