Wow - another beautiful city centre - Germany seems to have an endless supply of these pristine historic centres.
This building must hold some kind of world record for its dormer:regular window ratio. |
I've spent a couple of hours looking at pictures of cities I hadn't even heard of here, and while I've been underwhelmed by many of them (mostly North American towns), I've been very pleasantly surprised by the German towns. They're all so pretty!!

Very Teutonic. Where is Fredirick Barbarosa?

Standing ovation!

Been in town for a few days and there are cranes and construction everywhere, both in the old city and outside of it. Also scaffolding-galore. Looks like they've done / are doing a lot of facade work to help blend the rather plain and dated post-war architecture with the medieval remnants.

Nice tour. I agree about the abundance of beautiful German center cities. Even smaller towns like Ingolstadt have a great old center.
Glad this thread was brought back to life. |
