Oh come, do you really think it's more likely that people fear retribution for voicing their opinions on valuing architectural quality so much that they're sending dleung PM's for moral support, or that he's simply fishing for replies with some unsubstantiated admonishments of everyone else to bump up an uninteresting thread that no one's responded to in a week?

I actually agree with his general premise that poor architecture shouldn't be justified with "well at least it's filler"-type rationalizations, but guess what? No one cares. And even if they did, why would I care that anyone was bothered by that? It's a friggin' internet forum.

Many on here also apparently take this all way too seriously.

There's certainly a pressure towards some kind of group-think on this forum, similar to UT except of the Walmart variety. Ironically, it seems that the Toronto folks take dleung way too seriously... If u "don't care" for the topic, ignore it!!

FYI I didn't PM him

Again, as I said before, the word filler has been misused by several on here for simply differentiate between 'tall and not tall" regardless of quality and design, or even worse to simply dismiss any poorly designed project (regardless of how prominent it will be).

Misused? I've never heard of an all encompassing definition as it applies to different subject matter. This thread is nothing more than a backhanded jab at forumers whose interests lie more with skyline aesthetics. As others have said, There's not enough content for this to last more than a page or two.

PMs? Gimme a break. Next time come with something more believable. There's no animosity in this thread. In fact, those that put more emphasis on stature over architectural quality are the smaller voice.

Lol yes, none

If I make shit up, there are far less-ridiculous-seeming ways to do it

Agree with you on your first statement. I feel the same way. Not even to do with the topic of this thread, but I follow many threads in the Canada section though I rarely post, as I see how people can get treated when they have a different opinion then the prevailing one. I have sent a few pm to people just to let them know I agree with their sentiment (I wasnt one of the people who messaged dleung) on other topics.
