Urban Denver - Pearl Street Neighborhood, TOD, Transit Station

Pearl Street neighborhood is located on the southside of Denver along a light rail line. The area has a strong transit support system including, rail, bike facilities and bus. Note: I try and not take pics of people, but there where people out and about. Pics were taken late on a weekday afternoon, beginning of December.

Denver is really the only other place I've seen this kind of housing, I think. Called "railroad houses" here, although they aren't always duplex. That is definitely a gentrified looking commercial strip. Looks like a great day to be outside in Denver.

Used to live right by there and take the LRT to downtown from Louisiana-Pearl station. Great neighborhood, and where I would live if I ever moved back to Denver.

Lots of charm in those pics. Thanks! It's a great center city neighborhood.

I really liked this neighborhood. Denver is just loaded with great, active urban neighborhoods.

Where are all the people?

CONative Dec 8, 2010 1:54 AM

Did you not read what he wrote? He said that he tries not to take pictures with people in them.

What's the deal with the Colorado Native stickers, I saw one today that said Colorado Semi-Native. I see those stickers all the time though, even with people who have Missouri plates.

SnyderBock Dec 8, 2010 1:16 PM

People native to Colorado ought to be treated with proper and greater respect, than that of an average person. In order to ensure this, they must make it known they are a Colorado native. Even on cars. This way you know not to honk, ride their trunk or cut them off. (sarcastic)

On another note, why do so many people have stickers in their cars that say, "I love NY"? It's a show of pride. Same I suspect with people having "Colorado Native" stickers. This is not anything unusual. Are you simply implying that they shouldn't be proud of that? If so, why not?

LosAngelesBeauty Dec 8, 2010 6:15 PM

Wow those pics remind me so much of Pasadena!

I am pleasantly surprised that Denver has a bicycle sharing program like Copenhagen!

Very nice pics thanks for sharing

i think he means it is indeed unusual. it is much more ubiquitous to see those stickers around denver and in colorado than the *i heart ny* thing on cars out here. then again, the to-go coffee cups are another story! :D

Denver actually had the first large-scale bike sharing system in the country. DC and Minneapolis released theirs right after Denver, and i think the DC system is a bit larger than the other two.

Quick facts about the Denver system.

There are 50 stations currently.
For the first 7 months of operations the system had 102,000 riders.
Denver currently has 358 miles of bike routes and trails.
