The title says "to be another Dubai", but from the looks of it, the construction taking place seems a lot more reasonable than Dubai's. Dubai tries too hard and ends up building things that they don't need. Good on Kurdistan for being more down-to-earth.

Best Western comes to the city of Erbil
Best Western has signed its first hotel in KRG in the city of Erbil. The new Best Western Premier hotel is intended to serve demand from the region’s oil and gas industries. Construction will start in September this year, with opening scheduled for Q1 2014. The 18-storey property will open with 160 rooms, but the design of the building is such that there is scope to add a further five stories and 48 rooms in a rooftop extension.
The total number of the rooms for the both hotels are 260 guest rooms. The total budget of the both hotels is approximately 30 USD millions and it expected to be opened at the 2nd quarter of 2014 according to our plans and schedules.
