I wonder if, (hopefully) a year later, we'd be placing intarwebs bets on which would get T/O first

it will be an exciting time.

^^^ Photo #2 seems in oneway another world... Nice to see this green concrete arm very long uptodown boxes... 'Helping build Freedom Tower' it is cool now something will rise soon.

Daquan13 Oct 23, 2007 2:34 PM

That shot of the tower cranes (one of them carrying the concrete bucket) up close with 7 WTC in the upper right-hand corner is very dramatic and phrnominal!!

This building is probably the most talked-about construction project in all of New York!!

Exactly!

Mainly, I think, because it will be the 2nd office tower (7 wtc was the 1st) to pierce the skyline for Ground Zero!!;).

Great night shot with the sunset in the background, NYguy!!;)

But you're right! I would imagine that they must work at night to keep on schedule and meet the construction timetable.

I'd love to have this as my avator someday, so I think I'll do just that!!

Not sure about that... of course I can only speak for myself, but here in Sweden I read alot more about the Burj Dubai in the newspapers. I guess Dubai feels more exotic then NY. Still a great project though and it will be interesting to follow it as it gets built.

Not in Canada, most of the time we read news about Burj Dubai passing the CN Tower, or sometimes about the Chicago spire.

If that ^ is the situation here ( around 500 miles from NYC), what do you expect in Europe or the far east ? What makes you say 'planet' ?

Dac150 Oct 28, 2007 10:00 PM

Nope, I think its the most known project on the planet in present time.

Well, for starters... JMGarcia travels all over the globe, and has testified that he is accosted with questions about the FT wherever he goes.

Why don't you try a little exercise, aluminum: Query "Freedom Tower" in Google News and see how many international news stories pop up. Me thinks it will be an education for a dude obviously in need of one...

Matt08642 Oct 29, 2007 1:09 AM

I live in Canada and I haven't seen or heard shit about FT in the papers or on the news. :(

aluminum Oct 29, 2007 1:11 AM

^^^ Exactly what I said, fellow Canadian. Most discussed, eh ?. Need a better proof, Czech ?
