DUBAI | Signature Towers | 351 M | 79 FL | 305 M | 65 FL | 251 M | 52 FL | ON HOLD

This height is what I guessed for my 3D model but in fact it is very close according to one of the pics below.

These towers are not to be confused with the "dubai towers" which are also wiggly but a completely different project. In fact this one was released a few months ago but the thread disappeared into obscurity and now there's no chance of rescue :)

3 towers designed by Zaha Hadid's firm, one office (the largest), one res (the smallest) and one hotel. They share a common base which will have ground level retail, restaurants, etc. At the bottom the hotel and office towers merge to create a link to the hotel business centre with meeting rooms, office facilities and services for guests while near the top the hotel and res towers merge to share collective leisure facilities, including the indoor swimming pool and other amenities. Incorporated into this project is a pedestrian bridge allowing people to cross to the other side of the creek.

Various renders:

This was chosen from a competition with 4 entries. One of the other entries was by Reiser Umemoto. Here are the renders:

More images to come later. There are loads from my 3D model but I have to go to college now :)

^^ In fact the 1st (or maybe 2nd) thing I said in the last post is this complex is not to be confused with the one in those two threads. These are the real dancing towers, the others are called "dubai towers", it's just that someone made an extra thread for them and got confused between the names

my b, same type of lot, same design style, and the names are kinda screwy..... its gonna be cool to see these be constructed since they bend off core.

That project is different from this one, right?

Yes they are entirely different projects proposed by different developers and in different locations

The dancing towers look so much more elegant than these.

I'm glad to see this project is underway. I feel as though it's the most exciting proposal in Dubai right now.

RLS_rls Apr 22, 2007 7:20 AM

The renderings make them look extremely elegant, however I think in real life these will look kind of goofy. Kind of holding out on a final verdict until construction starts, however.

Dubai: the laboratory for zany architectural hubris.

John Hinds Apr 23, 2007 1:11 PM

To get to the top of the bent tower you need to enter the one next door?

That's just nuts.

Basically it seems that dubai will build just about anything that pops into there imagination. Kind of like a kid with really big/expensive Lego Blocks.

neverdone Jun 18, 2007 7:16 PM

What is Hadid's justification for the form of these buildings?

They look strikingly similar....but those towers are by TVS

NYC2ATX Jun 19, 2007 12:44 AM
