Just to clarify, are the losers from the reserve the victims or the victimizer?

22 homicides in Edmonton so far...also, there was a daylight drive-by at a local Earls, where two guys were shot, though neither were killed. Edmonton Sun, doing their part to booster the city ran the headline: "MURDER CITY".

The Maclean's annual ranking next year will solidify it

How is Abbotsford doing murder wise? Edmonton will likely overtake it for murder capital this year :(

giallo May 24, 2011 1:14 AM

^Abbotsford is generally not that bad. It was the gang wars of 2009 (thanks to the lack of cocaine coming out of Mexico) that really put it on the map. Still, for whatever reason, there is a lot of gang activity in the city.

He didn't kill her, looks like she'll be ok.

Based on the way the rankings are done, Medicine Hat is in the running now.

But I am getting sick of the lack of respect for human life, and how easy people find it to whip out a knife and use it.

As to the drive by the lack of cooperation should be a criminal charge at least when you retaliate don't do it around civilians.

Now I need to jump off my soap box.

25th murder of the year in Edmonton today just east of downtown

Last year there was 7, Calgary has 2 so far

Troubadour Jun 4, 2011 12:16 AM

I wonder if there is any city on Earth with more than 100k people and a zero murder rate that's consistent year to year.

25 murders for Edmonton and 2 for Calgary? Those numbers seem way out of whack. :koko:

Still no murders in Windsor this year, the last one was a year and a half ago. Pretty good for a city over 200,000 people on the border with Detroit!

Blitz Jun 5, 2011 7:01 PM

^ The last one was in late September, 2009. That would be something if we could go two full years murder-free.
