I'm pretty sure you can't see the Cypress Hills from the #1. They are actually a pretty good ways south of the highway.

Wow, has anyone looked at all of the logging sites in Canada before? There are so many, especially in BC and Alberta. OK, now that I look more, all over North America.......

Well, I'm stumped. I haven't got a thing to go on with this one. The only thing I've got is that it seems to be at least a fairly large inland lake.

Are you sure they're fish farms? It appears to be on a lake and I don't know of any such farms.

There also appear to be a handful of them further away from shore that are visible in the first pic.

My understanding is that freshwater fish ponds are used commonly to help stock nearby lakes...not sure about commercial fishing though.

Fish farms was my initial thought when I saw those 4 - 5 squares above the island, but the scale was so small that it didn't seem economically viable. But, if it's fish ponds for stocking then it suddenly seems feasable.

Last time I checked, Lake Winnipeg has no fish farms. They apparently do have fisheries
