It requires a culture shift in the city.

Moncton has always been suburban in character and auto-centric. This has a lot to do with the fact that for the most part, it is a relatively "new" city compared to it's Maritime neighbours and never had a densely built core. As the city matures and as more attractions and services locate downtown, the city will get more congested and driving downtown will get more difficult. This and an aging population wanting to downsize will drive a condo boom. It will happen here, just a generation or so later than in the rest of North America........
