It is very important that a museum building is very stable and safe of flooding in order to protect well the objects in it.

Sometimes, though, a great building can be a museum's best marketing tool, and it can become a great marketing tool for a city as a whole, which is important because it's often cities that invest in the museums.

I agree that it's good when museums are used to give a new lease of life to an old building, and use the building almost as one of the exhibits. This train museum in Swindon, England is housed in an old train factory.
