Downtown Hampton Inn/CBD
Downtown Baton Rouge will become the site of a seven-story, 137-room Hampton Inn & Suites hotel under a proposal by developers Richard Preis and Winsor/Aughtry Co. of Greenville, S.C.
The project’s cost is estimated at $15 million to $16 million, Preis said Thursday. The hotel will be built at Main and Lafayette streets.
The Hampton Inn & Suites will sit directly across Lafayette Street from Preis’ planned RiverPlace development, adjacent to the Kress Building and across Main Street from the state’s LaSalle garage. The hotel is projected to create about 40 full- and part-time jobs.
