Don't feel like you're missing out
As others have mentioned Target is basically just another iteration of the Zellers/Wal-Mart model and is nothing particularly special - in fact more than anything it is probably somewhat damaging to local businesses because most of the products being sold at the new Target locations are already available at low prices at existing department stores in these regions, so the argument that the new Targets offer local consumers savings that would otherwise be unavailable is kind of bogus. Consider also that there are no stores opening in Vancouver, Ottawa, or Quebec City proper. The only one in the Halifax area is right next to the widest freeway in Nova Scotia.
