I missed this one from earlier in the month. Grand Valley State University is moving forward with plans for two new parking decks in the Medical mile area. The larger of the two is a planned 6 levels with 1,220 spaces. It will be constructed in partnership with Spectrum Health next to the University's Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences (and their new, planned building at 333 Michigan St NE). The second will be much smaller, 66 spaces underneath the future building at 333 Michigan. At 420,000 SF, the bigger of the two looks like it will make for a nice advertising opportunity for GVSU and Spectrum along 196 -

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Grand Valley State University's board approved two parking structures along the Medical Mile on Friday, Feb. 2. The largest garage, a six-level deck with 1,220 spaces, will be built in partnership with Spectrum Health, the giant health services provider that operates several hospitals and clinics along the so-called "Medical Mile" on Michigan Street NE. The ramp will be built east of Lafayette Avenue along a strip of land located south of Int. 196 and next to GVSU's Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences and a $70 million health education building that will be built at 333 Michigan Street NE...
