I vaguely recall the Alto planning report praising the proposed 10' ceilings as 'contributing to livability' or something like that. I think the city is loosening up a bit and allowing higher ceilings, provided someone doesn't take advantage and create mezzanines. I'm sure they'd have confidence that residents of a building of this caliber wouldn't create 4' mezzanines out of their 12' ceilings. However with 16' ceilings, I could see it potentially happening in some buildings.

Speaking of 16' ceilings, I forgot to mention that the penthouse in this project will have 16' ceilings. Same as the penthouse at Trump Tower Chicago, and Donald Trump's NYC apartment.
