Agreed aspiringArchitect, The interior did receive a very attractive overhaul and upgrade recently. Also, the exterior did get new windows and paint, etc., but I agree with you it could use an exterior reclad. I don't think it would take a huge amount of change either. The basic elements are there, it just needs a creative architectural mind.
On my wish list, I would like to see Marriott build the new iconic convention hotel, and this current Marriott converted into a very posh W brand. W is talking very seriously of locating a property downtown in the near future, but I think another plot has already been set aside for the W. Oh well... still a classy boutique hotel would do well at the Marriott site.
