Yeah, they probably will have a tough time convincing people that these new LRVs have nothing in common with the LRVs that will be used on the new LRT lines under construction. "LRT" as a branding for a modern light rail system makes sense in a city that did not retain its traditional light rail system, but in Toronto it doesn't make as much sense, as you can probably see from these photos.
I am from Mississauga so I can also feel the difference that the streetcars and the tracks and the wires make. I hope Mississauga will get some of the same feeling with its upcoming LRT.
Note some of these streetcars are for Spadina, not King. I probably should add titles/descriptions.
