I too think he was one of the best photographers on the site. But I wouldn't call him eccentric. He was basically a kid--just finishing high school I think. And perhaps a tad overprivileged--I think his parents gave him a trip around the world or something as a graduation present.
I'd still like to know what suddenly turned him from hot to cold on SF so suddenly (I had a long talk with him on the phone about neighborhoods and he seemed excited about going there) and why he did not go there but went rather to Argentina (I think--that would have been fun at his age).
