  • It doesnt' have an athletics track
  • Wembley is hosting many matches in the Olympic football tournament.
  • The regeneration potentil would have been a lot less with a Wembley centred plan because...
  • London's plan was for a new Park in East London with an athletics legacy post-2012. Using Wembley (perhaps with a platform supported track) would've meant the plan would've been more spread out and left no athletics centre post-Games as promised.
  • The promise of an athletics stadium post-Games in a dedicated sports-park differentiated our bid from Paris'. I'm quite certain had London proposed Wembley, we'd be gearing up for Paris 2012 now, and the Olympic Park site would still look similar to this:
