This is an awesome photo tour. Glad to see the photos are still coming up. Somebody mentioned Fort Smith being one of the old gateways to the west, which is so true. Fort Smith reminds me a lot of St. Joseph, MO. In fact, Fort Smith and St. Joseph might be 2 of the oldest towns this far west. Are any other towns similar in age and frontier location and in the same league?
I should also add I LOVE that first picture of the mountain. Is that Magazine? I believe Magazine is the highest mountain in Arkansas, as well as Missouri and Oklahoma.
