^ yep. in the meantime, tourists and visitors take note - you can take advantage of the new/cheap hotels. i saw that many already are.

i even found a handful of green/leed bldgs around queens plaza. kind of an unexpected selling point in a neighborhood of so many big industrial bldgs:

one of them is jetblue hq, so i guess they were going to want a nice conversion.
its just very interesting to see the redevelopment of a gritty neighborhood like this.
