They are not the same distance at the angle that the camera is pointing in. This method would only work if you had a panoramic photograph whose center was exactly halfway between the two buildings rotating at a specific angle to create a picture where the distance
was equal to the two buildings from the vantage of the photographer. Also, for this to be accurate, you would need to increase the height of the photographer's perch.
