I have to admit, the only place I'd ever had Van Houtte was where I used to work, and as I didn't make the coffee, I have no idea how dirty the coffee urns may have been. A clean urn can make all the difference between good and bad coffee.

The place I used to work served Van Houtte's coffee in the cafeteria. It was horrible and always left a nasty aftertaste. Much worse than Tim Hortons (which isn't saying much). I brought my own coffee.
The ironic thing is that the few times I actually went to a Van Houtte retail location I found it to be pretty good on average.
Coffee gave me a lot of stomach acidity, so now I'm off the stuff entirely. I don't miss it at all. (I'm drinking tea now)
