Yes, but it was in July ! This region is actually the coldest place in the northern hemisphere. Temperatures can go down below - 60 °C in winter.
And, as the ship was going north, down the river to its mouth and the Arctic Ocean, there were less and less trees, as we were going from taiga to tundra, and small pockets of snow started to appear.
