If you're a U.S. citizen then Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands would be easy to do as there's not work visa requirements or anything. San Juan has been struggling economically but if you're a skilled worker as with many large cities you shouldn't have too much trouble. Housing would be much more expensive in the Virgin Islands. There were a ton of projects going on in San Juan the last couple times I was there, but that was two year ago. We've all seen Old San Juan but here's a residential street in Condado:
