Yep, it was quite a skyline before all of those crap boxes they put up along the East River blocking out all but the tallest skyscrapers. Even people who hate PoMo have to admit that the view from the west featuring the WFC and Battery Park City is a better view, if even that era of architecture isn't the nicest. I still get mad and disappointed seeing the view from Brooklyn.
