Freemasonry and the Illuminati is very interesting. The higher up you get in freemasonry the stranger/creepier it gets, anyways though, the Illuminati focus a lot on Egyptian mythology, Isis, Orisis etc... So a lot of their symbols were made with Egyptian concepts in mind.
