Brewery plans to add 155 jobs, make $49M upgrade

Blues City Brewery is one of three contract-brewing facilities operated in the U.S. by La Crosse, Wisconsin-based City Brewing Company. The company is experiencing a high demand for its liquid processing and packaging services, so it is evaluating where to expand capacity. The company’s Memphis facility at 5151 E. Raines Road is 1.3 million square feet and has the capacity to produce more than 60 million cases of beverages a year. Built by Schlitz on 83 acres in 1971, the plant was purchased by City Brewing nine years ago.
