Hey thanks everyone! I'll try to get a photography permit from the municipality and then take some proper pictures. It'll take some time though because from now until the end of hajj (December) Makkah's going to be pretty packed.

What makes you say the street scenes look like they're from another world? And yes you have to be Muslim to visit the city. Makkah and Madinah are Muslim bases, they're like our HQ, only members allowed. Every country has it's own Visa rules; the states for example requires you have all sorts of stuff only well off people have before they give you a visa. The requirement for the Makkah and Madinah visa is that you be Muslim.
